How do you prep your floors for tile?

Many of our processes are situational and prepping for a floor is no exception. For new construction tiling over plywood subfloor, Schluter's Ditra or Prova's Prova-flex is fast, clean and tough! A lot tougher than one might think. On the other hand, say we're tiling over an older plank subfloor, We'll often times use Durock, not the stuff with the styrofoam in it and ALWAYS mudded and screwed down.
What kind of shower system do you use?

That's another thing that's situational but my go-to and what I include in my bids is the Sentinel board from Floor & Decor. It's very similar to Wedi and is even resistant to vapor pressure so it can be used in steam rooms as well. Wedi is available as well. That is our premium shower system that offers the longest warranty. On the other hand, if a budget has to be met, we can use the less expensive Durock and still have a waterproof shower tough as nails! One more thing that should be noted is the Kerdi membrane by Schluter or the Prova-Mat membrane (their competitor). These products can be applied over regular drywall making them ideal for new construction and removing the need for a separate moisture resistant drywall order.
Why does there appear to be two 'Tile With Styles'?

Tile With Style has been in business for several years. My brother and I worked together most of that time. When He had it, it was Tile With Style LLC, when he got out of it and transferred the business to me, Jan 1, 2020, we discussed the LLC and we agreed I would take over the brand as a sole-proprietor and he would dissolve the LLC. Was the agreement anyways. I've since opted for the trademark with the USPTO so I can take Tile With Style to new heights! I'm still on a mission to make every customer 5 star happy and install beautiful and solid work that I can take pride in.
